В пятницу, 19 февраля наши «Матрёшки» выступили на грандиозном благотворительном мероприятии, проходившем в Посольстве Российской Федерации в Вашингтоне и имели потрясающий успех. После усердной подготовки, они станцевали торжественный полонез под музыку П.И.Чайковского из оперы «Евгений Онегин».
В зале появилось 10 элегантных пар.
Девушки в белых бальных платьях и перчатках, в тиарах с розами в руках. Юноши в роскошных фраках, с офицерской выправкой. Группа салонного танца произвела замечательное впечатление на гостей, собравшихся на бал.
Благотворительный бал был организован в честь Татьяниного Дня (25 января), который празднуется в России как день студенчества.
Первоначально Татьянин бал был назначен на 22 января, но из-за большого снегопада его перенесли почти на месяц позже. Хоть изначально это и расстроило наших «Матрёшек», они не стали унывать, а продолжили усердно работать и использовали лишний месяц для подготовки.
Наши аплодисменты и благодарность — Ольге Райнс, постановщику и хореографу этого восхитительного танца.
Весь коллектив очень благодарен нашему руководителю Ларисе Струценко за руководство и организаторскую помощь и в целом.
Спасибо нашим дорогим родителям за их постоянную поддержку, помощь с организацией репетиций, костюмов и транспорта.
Полонез «Матрёшек» имел такой большой успех на балу, что его хотят сделать традицией. Теперь каждый год Татьянин бал будет открываться танцем «Полонез» в исполнении нашей молодёжи.

On Friday, February 19th, our “Matreshki” performed with tremendous success at the grand charity event, the Tatiana’s Ball, held at the Russian Federation Embassy Washington. After weeks of hard training, they danced to the music of a solemn polonaise from Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin”.
Ten elegant pairs appeared into the ballroom as if by magic and brought with them a fairytale of long gone days.
Girls in white ball gowns and gloves, in tiaras and with roses in their hands. Boys in grand suits, with a military bearing. Our ensemble of ball dancing made a remarkable impression on the guests gathered at the ball.
This charity ball was organized in honor of Tatiana’s Day (25 January), which is celebrated in Russia as the day of all students.
Initially Tatiana’s Ball was scheduled for January 22, but due to some heavy snowfall it was postponed for almost a month later. Though initially our “Matreshki” were rather let down, they did not lose heart and continued to work hard and used this additional month to prepare even more.
Our applause and sincere gratitude goes to Olga Rines, our instructor and the choreographer of this wonderful dance, who spent lots of time planning it and working with the dancers.
The whole team is also very grateful to our director Larisa Struchenko for her leadership and help with the organization in general.
Furthermore, a big thank you goes out to our dear parents for their continuous support, assistance with the organization of rehearsals, costumes and transportation.
The Polonaise of our “Matreshki” had such a great success at the ball, that the idea has been put forth to make it a tradition! Now, every year, Tatiana’s Ball will be opened with the “Polonaise” dance performed by young men and women.
